Jerry Watts was a cherished man of exceptional character, whose life journey commenced on October 11, 1944, and concluded on December 20, 2023. He was born in Dallas, TX to Arleigh and Doris Watts. Jerry had an older sister, Janet Henry.
Known affectionately as Jerry, Butch, Uncle Butch, Butchy, Dad, and Papaw, he nevertheless had a preference for Jerry. A man of innumerable traits, Jerry was primarily adventurous, funny, loving, caring, generous, and spontaneous, bringing joy and warmth wherever he went.
Jerry devoted his life to the invaluable lesson that every person bears significance regardless of their status, race, or religion. He instilled this belief in everyone he interacted with, continuously emphasizing the inherent worth of all individuals. He found great success in broadening his perspective and imparting this understanding to those around him.
Among Jerry's various accomplishments including his massive love of the restaurant business, the legacy he left within his family surfaced as his most prized achievement. Possessing an unwavering commitment to nurturing and guiding his loved ones, his legacy echoes the sentiment that family is of utmost importance, a testament carved on the hearts of all who had the honor of being part of his life.
Being a man of deep faith, Jerry firmly believed in the saving grace of Jesus, a pillar that steadfastly stood throughout his life journey. This faith intertwined with his philosophy that hard work could make dreams a reality, painting a vivid picture of the man Jerry was. Often noted that the way to Jerry's heart was through his belly, he enjoyed a good meal and appreciated the simple pleasures life had to offer!
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Arleigh and Doris Watts, sister Janet Henry, and his aunt and uncle, Martha and Gene Falwell.
Jerry is survived by his children and their spouses; Cara & Danny Howard, Julie & Trent Fried, Jason & Sarah Watts, and Chris & Sloan Watts, as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
A man of laughter and love, Jerry "Butchy" Watts, will remain forever in our hearts, nurturing us with his memory and guiding us with his wisdom.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday, January 4 at Grove Hill. Services will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Friday, January 5 at Grove Hill, followed by the Committal at the park in the Garden of Resthaven.
