Jeannine Carlene Maxine “Mopsy” Poulin (Nee Langlais) ascended into heaven on June 20th, 2015 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 85. Jeannine is survived by her children: Timothy (and Sandra) Poulin of Dallas, TX, Lisa (and Richard) Smith of Malone WI, and Susan Brown of Flower Mound TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Danielle Lee, Carly Page, Christopher Brown, Rachel Poulin and Steven Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Paul Poulin, son Mark Poulin and daughter Denise Poulin.
Jeannine was born on February 18th, 1930, the 3rdyoungest of eleven children to Denis and Melvina Langlais. Jeannine met the love of her life Paul Poulin in her hometown in Maine, soon after high school. They both grew up speaking French as their first language. They married August 15th, 1950, and Paul’s career took their growing family from Maine (Mark) to New York (Denise) to Boston (Tim) to Montreal Canada (Lisa and Susan.) The next many stops in their family journey were Nova Scotia, Belleville Ontario, Clarkson Ontario, Erindale Ontario, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Houston Texas, and finally… Dallas Texas. As they say in Texas, “Jeannine got here as fast as she could!”
Needless to say, Jeannine was very adaptable. Her loved ones would also describe her as one of the most kind-hearted people you could ever know. Her strength amid surviving tragedies of losing her first two children was formidable. She was without question the “rock” of her family.
She made many dear friends along her life’s journey, and never spoke an unkind word about anyone. She truly blessed everyone she knew.
After raising her young children, Jeannine excelled in the retail industry winning numerous awards during her sales career. She loved to travel and was an avid gardener, cook, knitter, reader, puzzle solver and bridge player.
Jeannine was a very faithful person, involved with the church all her life. She was a lay-leader of Sunday church services at the Evergreen community in Plano, where she was one of the original residents and had resided the past ten years, leaving behind many very dear friends.
But most of all, she was fiercely devoted to her family, and utterly adored by her five grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, June 26th, 1PM at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Texas.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jeannine’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Special Olympics in honor of Jeannine’s grandson Christopher Brown. For more details and to leave a message on Jeannine’s legacy guestbook, please visit www.teddickeywestfuneral.com
