Janet passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 3rd, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born on November 16th, 1942 to Philip and Gladys Tranfield in New York City, NY. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Tom Rogers; son, Paul Rogers and wife Crystal; daughter, Jennifer (Rogers) Buchheit and husband, Steven; brother, John Tranfield; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded by her parents.
Visitation for Janet will be on Monday September 8th, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday September 9th, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton with internment at Restland Memorial Park to follow.
After retiring from Nortel Networks, where she worked as an executive assistant for 10 years, Janet volunteered her time at The Medical Center of Plano on a weekly basis and was an active member of the Plano chapter of Altrusa International and the Children’s Cancer Society. She was an avid tennis player, excellent Mah Jongg player, and accomplished gardener winning “Yard of the Month” two years in a row. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and loved entertaining family and friends.
Janet was gracious with her time, heart, and friendship. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
