Janet Ruth Lott

Born on May 31, 1944 to Jack and Virginia Hensley in Dallas, Tx. She met her husband, William Lott, while working at the local pig stand and they were married in Rockwall after a brief courtship in 1962. They had two children, son Jeffery, and daughter Jennifer.

She was a beloved member of the cafeteria crew at Shands Elementary in Mesquite for more than 20 years.

She loved to go thrift shopping and to garage sales and was known to bust a u-turn for an estate sale. She also loved to spend her time watching the birds around her neighborhood.

She will be remembered as a woman of immense faith in God and for her down to earth beliefs.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Buddy and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery Lott of Lockhart, Tx; her daughter Jennifer Vaughan of Mesquite, Tx; sister Joyce Aguilar of Mty, Mexico and her husband; brothers Jerry Hensley of Ben Wheeler, Tx and his wife and Jack Hensley Jr.; niece Christine Montes and husband; and nephews Robert Engle and his wife and Timothy Engle; and numerous great nieces and nephews and friends.

Services will be held at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX Monday, March 13, 2023 visitation will be at 10 am - 11 am immediately following will be funeral service followed by interment at Restland Cemetery.
