Janet Lynn Farrow passed away quietly into the arms of the Lord on 5-19-2016. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was born 12-7-1945 to Leon and Virginia Farrow at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas.
She is survived by her son, Justin Scott Suggs, her sister, Julie Ann Farrow, her granddaughter and husband, Alisa Lynn Richardson and Ryan Richardson, her grandchildren, Justin Ryan Suggs, Jackson Scott Suggs, Madeline Jane Suggs, and great- grandchildren, Nolan Forbes Richardson, and Charlie Ann Richardson, as well as extended family and friends.
She was a lifelong resident of Dallas, attending Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Junior High, and Woodrow Wilson High School. She also graduated from Richland College. She was raised in the Episcopal Church and was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She worked at Camp Crucis in the 1970’s and loved looking after all of the young campers. She also worked with the Episcopal Youth for Christ group at St. Johns. Jan started her career as a dental assistant and worked her way up to office manager. A founding owner of Monarch Dental, Jan managed multiple offices and made a positive impact on all her employees. Jan was a proud supporter of Our Friends Place, and volunteered in many roles within the organization.
Jan loved her family, friends, spending time at the lake house, gardening, traveling, and needlepoint. Jan was kind, loved life, and was a bright light to all who knew her. Jan had many wonderful roles here on earth, including wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, counselor, leader, friend, and volunteer. Her kind heart and generous spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of Jan’s life will be held on June 3rd, 2016 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Rd., Dallas, Texas 75218 at 10:30 am.
