James Scott Mattison was taken too soon on May 2, 2021. He was born March 9, 1963 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas and attended Kimball High School. He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Myra Mattison and his beloved wife of 21 years Daveta Gilley. James completed his Airframe And Powerplant Certification at Texas Aero Tech in 1992 and worked for Bombardier Aerospace for 21 years. He is survived by his two sons James Austin and Joseph Delane and his step-daughter Crystal Dawn who brought many years of joy, purpose and some headache to his life. He loved working with his hands and fixing things, being outdoors and was an avid reader as well. He had a witty sense of humor along with a contagious smile and always seemed wise beyond his years. You could ask him about almost anything and he'd give you his honest opinion with no filter. Most importantly though, he was a generous, caring and devoted father who loved his family truly unconditionally. James was loved by many and will be missed by many more.
