James Edward Love, 80, of Dallas, Texas, was raised up to Heaven on September 27, 2018. James was born April 2, 1938, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Elmer and Lucille (Phillips) Love. He attended Nevada High School, in Nevada Missouri. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, where he served his country as a Surgical Technician and received an Honorable Discharge. While stationed in San Antonio, he also served with the Salvation Army where he met the love of his life of 60 years, Ruth. James and Ruth had four children and moved from Missouri to Texas, where they found their home in Dallas. During his life, James sold Life Insurance and worked at Pepsi Cola, always providing for his family. James enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys each season. His excitement grew so much during one Thanksgiving game, he bit a hole through his pipe. He enjoyed his family and travelling. James was very funny, often telling jokes and making people smile. He instilled a work ethic in each of his children that still resonates today. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Sharon; sons John, Robert and his wife Vicky, James and his wife Debbie; grandchildren, Chris, Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Jeremy, Justin and his wife, Charlotte; great-grandchildren; Haley, Michael, Thorin, Luke and Raylenn. James is no longer in pain…he was loved and will be dearly missed. Services will be held at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will take place Thursday, October 4 at 10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
