James Earl Howard

James Earl Howard was born August 11, 1954, in Houston, Tx. He was the son of Octave Howard and Willie Mae Howard, who have preceded him in death. He lived in Dallas for more than 20 years and was a faithful member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, where he served in the Outreach Ministry James graduated from Kashmere High School in Houston, Texas in 1972 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronical Engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology in 1976. He married the love of his life Carolyn Shelby, on March 11, 2000. He was employed by several companies such as Texas Instruments, Data Corporation, and Dallas Independent School District, just to name a few. James leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 22 years, Carolyn Howard, a special godson, Rickie Byrd of Tulsa, OK; 3 sisters, Mary (Tyrone) Powell of Harrisburg, PA, Edith Howard of Houston, TX & Rosa (Jerome) Goffney of New Waverly, TX; 2 brothers, Thomas (Janice) Howard of Beaumont, TX and George Howard of Houston, TX; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, 1808 W. Camp Wisdom Rd, Dallas, TX 75232. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Mem Park - Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232.
