James Edward Alexander Sr., 75 years of age, passed on Monday, July 18, 2022, at the Dallas VA Medical Center.James was born, May 1, 1947, in Longview, Texas at Good Shepherd Hospital to the late Odie Hall and Iona Alexander. He is predeceased by his brother JB Davis, sisters Judy Kay Sheffield, Kathlyn Alexander and grandson Daveodrick Roque. He leaves one surviving sister Sue Hall, who lives in North Park Virginia.
James attended C.B. Dansby High School in Kilgore, Texas and Kilgore College. After, college he enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years ending his assignment at NSF, CAM Rach Bay, Vietnam as one of the Original Seal Team 6. After receiving honorable discharge from the Navy, James became employed as an engineer at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas. He later moved to Dallas, Texas furthering his career at Decker Foods and Parkland Memorial Hospital before retiring.
James is survived by his wife, Pamela Ellis-Alexander for over 20 years, his children with Sharon Newman; Shekeema, James Jr. (wife LaConnia), Marcellus Sr. (wife Cheterria) and stepchildren Saqouia Layton (husband Morris) and Satoria. He was also a loving and devoting grandfather to Tieghlor, Teddy (TJ), Chetarri, Cedrod, Marcellus Jr, Chris, Wy’Kesshia, Ty’Najha, Dedrick and a host of other grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
If you know James, then you know he could be found watching football when ever a game was playing, especially the Dallas Cowboys. James loved his family and friends. Everyone he met and befriend was welcome in his home. He lived up to the many names called to acknowledge who he was to everyone: Caveman, Uncle Bennie and most famous for being called Daddy and Pawpaw. James’s leaves a rich legacy filled with love and honor. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and all who knew him.
