Jack Rosenstein, 80, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Austin, Texas on Sunday night, February 5, 2012, after a brave 10 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Mr. Rosenstein was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 19, 1931, Mr. Rosenstein graduated from City College of New York with a degree in chemistry. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army medical corps in Trieste, Italy. An avid poker player, Mr. Rosenstein also enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles and watching football. Jack Rosenstein was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 28 years, Jean Rosenstein. He is survived by his two children, Sam and Susan, his son-in-law, Brent, and his four cherished grandsons, Bradley, Matthew, Jacob and Gabe. He is also survived by his brother, Alan Rosenstein, and sister-in-law, Arlene. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Jewish War Veterans or the Texas Voice Project.
