Isaac Daniel Hardy passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2013. Dan was born in Hazen, Arkansas on February 18, 1925. Having honorably defended our country during World War II and the Korean War, he retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and spent his career in electronics instructing and writing. Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Diane Hardy Lee of Plano, Texas, two brothers Buford Hardy of Dallas, Texas and John Hugh Hardy of Hector, Arkansas, and one sister, Christine Amelia Hardy Ward of Carmichael, California. Dan is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Sue Creasy Hardy, three sons, Kenneth O’Neal Hardy and wife Harriet of Ponte Vedra, Florida, William Lloyd Hardy and wife Shan of Kernersville, North Carolina, and Philip Wayne Hardy and wife Diane of Red Oak, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Ann Hardy Lencioni and Lisa Carol Hardy Fike and husband, Christopher, of Dallas, Texas; son-in-law Richard E. Lee of Plano, Texas, brother Noah Carol of Cameron Park, California; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 10:30 am, at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, June 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
