To our dearly departed father and hero Ildefonso Ramirez who passed away on January 3, 2023, after a long battle with a respiratory illness. He was married to his wife Elvia Cazares Ramirez for 45 years. They went on to have four children: Alfonso, Juan Carlos, Daniel, and Elvia.
He was the choir director of St. Mary of Carmel Catholic for over forty years accompanied throughout his time by his wife and children. Alfonso would play the guitar, Juan Carlos played the piano, Daniel sang and Elvia played the flute. He had a lifelong love of Scripture, attending classes to become a Catechist through Dallas Baptist University in 2013.
Ildefonso is preceded in death by his mother, Martina Sanchez Ramirez; father, Castulo Ramirez; and his son, Juan Carlos Ramirez (2005). He is survived by his wife, Elvia; daughter, Elvia, son, Alfonso; son, Daniel and wife, Vanessa Ferrusca-Ramirez along with his grandchildren: Talia Gabriele, Alexia Daniele, and Carlos Daniel.
A visitation for Ildefonso will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at St.Mary of Carmel Catholic Church, 2900 Vilbig Road, Dallas, Texas 75212. A rosary will occur Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Mary of Carmel Catholic Church, 2900 Vilbig Road, Dallas, Texas 75212. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Carmel Catholic Church, 2900 Vilbig Road, Dallas, Texas 75212. An interment will occur Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220.
Ildefonso will be laid to rest in Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220-3338; SECTION JM-1; Lot: 65, Grave: 4.
