Helen graduated from Monmouth College High School and attended Seaton Hall University. . Helen married the late Robert William Yake in 1954. Helen managed a household with five children while working full time and retiring in 2005. Helen and Robert joined St. Marks Catholic Church in 1970. Helen was the Richardson district voting poll leader for several elections and was a life time Democrat and advocate for social justice. In addition, she never missed a week of reading the New Yorker and nailed The New York Times Crossword Puzzle until 3 days before her death.
Helen remains a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother- a woman of compassion, thirst for knowledge and love for children.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and only brother. Helen is survived by her sons, Steve, Chris, Mike, Bryan and daughter Jody. One daughter in law, Anne Yake. She is also survived by her grandsons Chris Koon and Phoenix Landry; granddaughters Kelly Koon, Carter Yake and Olivia Yake.
A 12:30 PM Rosary and 1:00 PM Mass are scheduled on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 1201 Alma Dr. Plano, Texas followed by a graveside service at Restland Cemetery located at 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Texas. Rosary, Mass, and graveside service open to all.
After graveside service please come to 2018 Flat Creek Drive Richardson, Texas for friends and family gathering.
