Harry grew up in Irwin, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shortly after graduating from Carnegie Melton University in 1954, he was married and had four sons. Harry served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, then worked as a metallurgical engineer at Alcoa.
In 1976, he attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where he studied law. After graduation, he practiced law in Sioux City, Iowa for three years, where he met and married Bobbie on August 12, 1983.
In 1983, he joined the Huggard, Thurman, and Tucker Law Firm in Dallas, Texas, becoming a partner in 1994. In 1997, he joined the Loacke and Pernell Law Firm, from which he retired in 2001.
Harry loved fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, and traveling with family – making memories which he treasured.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Watson in 1990; his father, Joseph Watson, in 1993; and his sister, Miriam Svedberg in 2007. Harry is survived by his wife, Bobbie Watson of Plano; sons, David Watson of Huntsville, Alabama, Tom Watson and his wife, Cindy, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Watson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Eric Watson of Tampa, Florida; his brother, David Watson of Plymouth, Minnesota; grandchildren, Rebecca Watson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Brittany Watson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; stepdaughters, Roxanne Gould of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ronna Lee of Brandon Mississippi; step-grandchildren, Brooke Litchliter, Kassie Dicus, Gabe Siert, Ronelle Siert; step-great-grandchildren, Alex Litchliter and Amara Siert.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10am in Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 8011 Frankford Rd., Dallas, TX 75252. Memorial donations may be made to the American Syringomyelia Chiari Alliance Project, P.O. Box 1586, Longview, TX 75606-1586.
