Gloria Louise White Houston was born to the parentage of William and Lucille White (both deceased) in San Antonio, Texas. She attended schools in Houston, Texas where she graduated from Phyllis Wheatly High. She was united in Holy Matrimony to James A. Houston Sr., on August 31, 1955. Gloria accepted Christ in 1963 at Christ Temple Apostolic of Houston, Texas under the pastor of late Elder A.J. Patterson. In 1964 they moved to Dallas, Texas. They joined the First Pentecostal, known as First Apostolic Assembly, under the pastor of Bishop N. L. Hinton, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. Gloria attended graduated from Nursing School and received her RN License. She was employed with Parkland Memorial Hospital, Veterans Hospital and Methodist Hospital where she retired after 20 years of service. Her brothers Donald and William both preceded her in death; sister, James Etta Boykins, of Houston, Texas and younger brother, David White of California. Those left to cherish her memories are: Her devoted husband, James Sr.; their children; James Jr, Dalphine Hogg (Terry); Chris; Darlon; Cheryl Reese; Gerald (Shonda); Jerry; Melody Brooks(Tony); Leah Houston; David all of Dallas, Texas, and Terri Tillmon (Terry) of Chicago, IL.; (25) grandchildren; (22) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, adopted children are: Arnetta Jenkins and Melissa Hunter.
