Gail Singletary Sullivan, 71, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 15, 2023. She was born in Houston, Texas on March 10, 1952. After graduating from Bellaire High School, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Deaf Education from the University of Houston and a Master of Science degree in Special Education and Teaching from The University of Texas at Dallas. In her early career, she was a special education teacher at Mesquite ISD, Garland ISD and Dallas ISD. From there, she went on to found For Kids Only Child Development Center in Garland, TX and was the Director from 1989 to 2012.
Gail will be deeply missed and will be remembered as a strong and selfless woman who was happiest helping children and others. “Ms. Gail” taught until the last day of her unexpected passing and touched countless lives over the last 50 years. Her passion for educating children was indisputable and her life’s work.
Gail was tough and fought through many of life’s challenges including a successful fight against breast cancer. She loved welcoming friends, family, and the “extended family” of her sons’ friends into their home alongside her husband “Sully.”
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her two sons Patrick and Brian Sullivan and their wives, Jamie and Meredith, sister Jan Walters, sister-in-law Diane Catanzaro and her three children, and five grandchildren. Her husband of 35 years Daniel John Sullivan passed away in 2011. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother “Mimi,” wife, sister, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Gail Singletary Sullivan to the Genesis Women’s Shelter or Eastlake Pet Orphanage.
