Fred Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy, age 86, was called home on February 16, 2024, in

Dallas, Texas. He was born on November 15, 1937, in Dallas, Texas

(where he was also raised). His parents were William H. and Mintie

Murphy and also had an older brother. He served in the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1965. He attended North Texas college, studying business administration.

On May 1, 1965, Paul married Brenda. They raised three daughters: Rachelle Parezo (Dennis), Leslie Dalton (Flint), and Ashleigh Greer, (Mike). Paul and Brenda were the grandparents to

five grandchildren. Paul was passionate about golf, regularly assisting friends in their golf game. He enjoyed many years outdoors in the sunshine and fresh air, building many relationships over the years on the course. His current vehicle would always be easily recognized by the personalized plates: GOLF!

Paul has been blessed for many years to call First Baptist Garland his church family. He loved investing time serving others and enjoyed many activities. He was humbled to be asked to serve as a deacon,

and he took the call very seriously. He will best be remembered for putting others first. He served others and wanted to put others’ best interests ahead of his own.

He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Bill. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Murphy, his children and grandchildren, Joshua Murphy, Nathan Parezo, Jonathan Parezo, Devon Dalton, Baylee Dalton and three great-grandsons.

A private military burial will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024. A visitation and a Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 and 1:00 respectively at First Baptist Garland, 801 West Avenue D, Garland,

TX 75040. In lieu of flowers donations to the Building Fund at his church home may be made.
