A God fearing man. Entered into eternal life on April 16, 2014. He was born on July 11, 1925 to Pete and Elise Kelow in Shaw, Mississippi. Frank the youngest of 4, was adopted by Icy and Walter (Watt) Douglas of Shaw, Mississippi.
Frank married Adean in June 1948 and was married for 52 years prior to Adean’s death in 2000. He and his wife relocated to New York City with advancement in mind for themselves and their kids.
Frank “Pop” worked as a printing press operator and janitor until his retirement. Frank enjoyed coaching kids in baseball and football and meeting EVERYBODY! Some might say he was the original Wal-Mart greeter. Frank could turn a dark day bright with his personality and warmth.
Frank is survived by his sons, Lance Douglas and wife Melanie, and Frank L. Douglas Jr. and wife Aideen Young; daughter, Carolyn Davis; brother Louis Henry Kelow, granddaughters,Casandra Jadean Deloatch, Mykle. Caolinn, Daire Douglas; grandsons, Lance G., and Kobie Douglas;
and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and great friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Adean Douglas; son, John Henry Miller; sister, Johnnie Lou Kelow Slayton;
brother, Jake Kelow. A funeral service for Frank will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Ted Dickey West at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest with his wife in New York, Calverton National Cemetery on Thursday, April 24, 2014 in a very short service starting @ 11AM.
