Frances was born November 6, 1940 to Harry Morris Roberts Sr. and La Frances Roberts of Dallas, Teaxs. While growing up in Dallas, she attended Ursuline Academy and graduated from SMU where she studied elementary education. She dedicated her career to inspiring children to foster a life time love of reading. Her zest of learning persisted throughout her life and drove her to earn her master’s degree in library science and information technology from the University of North Texas at the age of 70. Her teaching career extended from The Lamplighter School in Dallas to Grace Presbyterian School in Houston and back to Dallas where she taught 1st and 3rd grade at Christ the King School and culminated with a library position at Holy Family of Nazareth.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ashley Buehler, Shannon Diaz, and Tricia Albright; her brother Harry Roberts Jr, and sister Mary Sue Kiker. Her grandchildren are Allison Buehler, William Albright, Reid Buehler, Henry Molina, Mason Molina, Thomas Diaz, and Risa Diaz.
She filled her free time enjoying laughter with friends and family. She was very active in her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. She volunteered as a librarian and reading teacher at Reconciliation Outreach’s after school program for inner city children and teens. She loved to have fun and go out to lunch with life long friends. She simply loved to be with people spreading joy and collecting memories. She loved to go to Del Mar, the beach, watching golf, and to be with her daughters.
The service is Friday June 21, 2019 at Christ the King Church where she was married, employed and a member of the first 1st grade class in 1947.
