Felix Heredia of Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 18, 2015, 1928 at the age of 86. He was born in Uyuni, Bolivia on December 4, 1928 to Belisario and Amalia (Miranda) Heredia. Felix began working from the age of 14 in Uyuni, Bolivia and never stopped. In 1955 he became manager of personnel for the Social Security Department of Bolivia. Through the encouragement of his brother, Mario, Felix came to Dallas in 1960 to study at SMU.
As an early Bolivian pioneer in in Dallas, Felix helped all Bolivians who followed afterwards. Though not always possible Felix preferred to do his part to help those in need without accolades and as anonymously as possible.
Outside of helping the Hispanic community in general, sport and soccer was a love that consumed him. Among his many achievements was organizing the participation of the 5 time Dallas Cup champions Tahuichi Academy and bringing the Bolivian National soccer team to Dallas in 1994. Felix also organized the first boys soccer team in Dallas in 1966 among who’s stars were Kyle Rote Jr. and Greg Ryan who went on to become US hall of fame stars.
His favorite and most successful role however was as a husband, father and grandfather of which he never tired of boasting.
Felix is survived by his son, Miguel Heredia and wife, Alice; daughter, Patty Calderon and husband, Flavio; grandchildren, Aviel, Andy and Emily; Brothers, Mario Heredia and wife, Rosario and Juan Heredia and wife, Lene; Sisters, Aida Urzagasta and Nila Heredia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Esther Jordan Heredia and son, Luis Heredia.
