Emily was born in Dallas, TX on December 11, 2002 to John Paul and Mary Ann Hadden. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ray Drake and Jane Traylor Drake. She is survived by her parents and her sister, Mary Katherine Hadden of Dallas, TX; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Connie Hadden of Bossier City, LA; her uncles and aunts, Vince and Christa Drake of Shreveport, LA, Richard and Debbie Hadden and David and Suzette Hadden of Bossier City, LA, and James and Janet Hadden of Atlanta, GA. Emily is also survived by a host of loving cousins, both young and old, including her first cousins, Carlie, Allie and Mason Drake of Shreveport, LA and Josh, Jon David and Ryan Hadden of Bossier City, LA.
Emily loved singing and dancing to music, going to summer camp, riding in the side by side, looking at herself in the mirror and flipping through the pages of her Southern Living magazine. She loved horseback riding, yoga, her dog, Henley, and spending time with her family - especially her sister, Katie.
Throughout Emily’s short life, she taught us patience, humbleness and kindness. She filled our lives with joy each day. Taking care of Emily was a privilege and honor and we believe Emily was a gift from God to our family. She brought us joy and heartache at the same time but we would not trade one moment of the time we spent with her here on earth. We find comfort knowing that we will see our Emily again and we know she’s giving those big hugs of hers to all of her family members as they welcomed her into Heaven’s gates.
We want to thank her teachers at It’s a Sensory World, The Notre Dame School and her camp counselors at H.E.R.O.E.S. for the loving care they provided Emily for so many years. As one of her teachers shared with us, “Everybody has an Emily story”.
Honoring Emily as pallbearers will be Joel Buys, Stephen Davis, Bob Green, Brian Hurt, Joe Martin and Shannon Stansbury.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 14, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Rd, Dallas, TX 75238. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218.
