Elvira Lopez Torres

Elvira Lopez Torres, age 87, passed away on July 20, 2017 in Dallas, TX. She was born on August 13, 1929 in Dallas, TX to Pedro and Lorenza Lopez. Elvira was raised in Dallas, TX. She married Marcos R. Torres in 1952 and the couple had 3 children. Elvira enjoyed spending time with her family, reading the newspaper, traveling, and cooking. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving woman who always carried a smile, sense of humor and open arms to all those around her. She treated new friends and acquaintances as family and always made sure everyone was comfortable. She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Lorenza Lopez as well as eldest son Marcos R. Torres, Jr. She is survived by: Sisters, Linda Quiroga, Belen Cruz, Lorenza Torbellin; Brother, Ernesto Lopez Sr. and wife Lupe. Also survived by her loving Husband of 64 years, Marcos R. Torres Sr.; Son Jose Torres Sr. and wife Maria; Daughter Brenda Valdez and husband Vincent; Daughter in law Louann Kai, as well as eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Her family will never forget her smile and playful nature, which kept the family laughing up until the time she entered eternal life. Visitation will be held Monday July 24, 2017 from 4:00pm till 8:00pm with a rosary scheduled for 6:30pm at Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory. Please join the family Tuesday July 25, 2017 for a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 2900 Vilbig Rd. Dallas, TX 75212. Interment Calvary Hill Cemetery.
