Eloise Mae Swanson

Eloise Mae Brown Swanson died peacefully in her sleep on September 30, 2022. She is survived by four children: Louise Schuerenberg, Veronica (Thomas) Powell, John R. (Cathy) Swanson, III, Eric (Marilyn) Swanson: eight grandchildren; John Schuerenberg, Karina (Bruce)Van Horn, Heather Powell, Amy (Peter) Sillan, Lucy Powell, Nettie Powell, Eric (Erin) Swanson II, Jared (Schuyler) Hibbard-Swanson; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Brown Jr., and sister, Barbara (James) Hazlewood. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Swanson ,II;,her parents, Herbert and Rubye Brown;and sister, Dorothy Herkimer.

Eloise enjoyed her 97 years of life to the fullest through involvement in acting and costume design in local theater and taking those passions another step by directing her grandchildren in numerous skits that are legendary in the family. Many adventures were enjoyed through backpacking, boating, and traveling with her husband, children and grandchildren.

A visitation for Eloise will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX ,75225. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 8, 2022, 10:00 AM at Sparkman/Hillcrest with committal following in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
