She was born in Minter City, MS, but lived and worked in Ruleville and Indianola, MS, most of her life before moving to Dallas in 2001. Ellen worked at Modern Tool and Dye in Indianola for 36 years before moving to Dallas, TX, where she finished her working career at CVS Caremark in Ft. Worth, TX. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandkids and family. She had a passion and talent for Bowling, winning numerous local and state awards over the years.
Ellen is survived by her son Gary W. Smith (Terry) of Dallas TX; her longtime companion, Alvin Sellers of Gun Barrel City TX; 3 Grandchildren: Erika Smith Brown of Gore Springs MS, Kenny Smith (Adrianna) of Gulfport MS, and Courtney Barnett of Roswell NM; 5 great Grandchildren: Trapper Smith of Gore Springs MS, Lillie Brown of Gore Springs MS, Melodi Gonzales of Roswell NM, Giavonna Smith of Gulfport MS, and Gabriella Morales of Roswell NM; and by several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Special thanks to Nieces Louann Rainey of Crowley TX and Linda Conn of Carrollton, TX for your continuous love and ‘hands-on’ support.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Edna Mae (Chadwick) Ainsworth, 2 sons: Bobby Smith and James K. Smith; 4 brothers: Kenneth Ainsworth, Clyde Ainsworth, Melvin Ainsworth and L E Ainsworth; 3 sisters: Alice Ainsworth Broomhall, Ann Ainsworth Barnett, Mary Nell Ainsworth Stokes.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 6th, at 12pm CT at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, TX.
