Elizabeth was born on April 2, 1928 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Gertrude Elizabeth Stephens and Charles Ross Stephens. On Friday, September 8, 2017, our beautiful, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother made her entrance to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior in Dallas, Texas at the age of 89. She joined her mother and father, eagerly awaiting her arrival. She will be greatly missed, but forever remembered, for the wonderful, loving caring person she was, for the loving sacrifices she made for her daughters, and for the Godly inheritance she left her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She was a long time member of Casa View Baptist Church, Wilshire Baptist Church then First Baptist Church of Dallas. She was an active member in her beloved hobby of traditional rug hooking for over forty years. Elizabeth was a descendant of the revolutionary war hero Valentine Sevier, her fifth great-grandfather, and John Sevier the first governor of Tennessee, who was her fifth great-uncle.
She is survived by her four daughters: Janet Moore and husband, Ned; Deborah Pollard and husband, John; Rosslyn (Lisa) Williams and husband, Mike; Dana Self and husband, Pete; Twelve Grandchildren: Stephen Moore and wife, Christie; Ned Moore and wife, Marci; Jon Moore; Bryan Pollard; Matthew Pollard and wife, Camery; Cara Pollard White and husband, Eric; Abby Williams Mann and husband, Erik; Bret Williams and wife, Lisa; Casey Williams and fiancé, Danny Zamora; Jake Self and wife Meagan; Ross Self and Luke Self; Sixteen Great-Grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by her loving devoted sister, Sharon Baker Laminack; nephew, Scott Laminack and niece, Kristin Laminack. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Napper.
The viewing will be at Grove Hill Funeral Home on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. with a Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by her grandson, Bret Williams.
