Elinore "Molly" Catherine Gondolf

Molly was born on March 31, 1924, in Warsaw, New York to the late William & Mary McClusky. She was preceded in death by her husband John Gondolf, her son William and daughter Jeanie, her brother William, her sisters Margaret McElroy, Elizabeth Manila, Dorothy Franz, Patricia Nichol, and son-in-law Robert Leach.

After her family moved to Dallas in 1936, Molly attended high school at Ursuline Academy of Dallas. She graduated in 1940 and went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin. She was a loyal TX Longhorn football fan the rest of her life! It was in Austin where Molly met her husband, John Gondolf. They married in January 1946 and quickly started a family. They made their home in Dallas and raised four children. Molly enjoyed a 25-year career at Taylor Publishing Company until her retirement in 1989.

Molly was a devout Catholic attending Mass daily and Eucharistic Adoration, supporting The Catholic Foundation and the Bishop’s Appeal and she was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church for over 65 years. Molly died as she lived her life, on her terms. A strong Irish/Scottish woman, Molly was fiercely

independent and insisted on caring for her rather large yard and greenhouse well into her 80’s, even mowing and weeding. Molly lived on her own until she was in her mid-nineties.

Molly will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was very close to her late parents and sisters and in her final days was ready to be reunited with them and all the angels and saints in heaven. She was at peace and having lived 99 years in this life welcomed the new life she would have in eternity.

Molly is survived by daughter Catherine Leach (late Robert,) sons John (Jack) Jr. (Debbie,) Tom and Tim (Marilyn), 9 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren and 4 great- great- grandchildren. Also surviving Molly are her 6 nephews and 8 nieces and their extended families.
