Edith Boykin Moore was the eldest of three children born to the late James F. Boykin and Mable Mathis Boykin. She was a life long resident of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Moore graduated from the public schools of Dallas and received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science Degrees from Prairie View A & M University. She received her certificate of Vocational Education from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas. She taught in the public schools of Ferris, Texas for three years and in the Dallas Independent School District for over 46 years. She was married to Roy Lee Moore on November 25, 1953 and to this union was born one daughter, Pamela Renee Moore. Edith was a life long member of the Munger Avenue Baptist Church, a volunteer worker with the music department and the clerical staff. She was a member of the NEA, TSTA, CTD and YWCA. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Renee Moore; brother, Elroy Boykin; sister, Charles Andrea Simmons(Douglas M.); nieces, Denise M. Simmons, Vikki Boykin; nephews, Alan R. Simmons(Kenya), James G. Boykin(Reva); grandnieces and nephews, and Tricia Weatherwax (her adopted daughter) and other relatives.
