Edith Epstein passed away on May 30, 2013 in Dallas, TX. She was born on September 16, 1930 in Newark, NJ to Frieda and Max Zimring. She graduated from Weequaic High School and Upsala College where she earned a degree in biology. She was initially a biology teacher and later taught elementary school in Cranford, NJ. Edith loved to travel and visited many foreign countries. She was a talented sculptor who worked in stone. She was a great volunteer and particularly treasured her work with Scottish Rite Hospital and Temple Emanu-El. She enjoyed all of the arts, especially theater and symphony.
Edith was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married to Morris Epstein for 52 years. He passed away in 2001. She is survived by her son, James Epstein and his wife Catheryn Epstein and her daughter, Ann Margolin and Ann’s husband, Fred Margolin. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Stephanie Epstein, Richard Margolin, Charles Epstein, Jane Margolin, Marguerite Epstein and Harrison Epstein.
A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Temple Emanu-El Lefkowitz Chapel, 8800 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, Texas 75225.
