Life-long resident of Dallas, Texas, died peacefully at her home on May 15, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. Dorothy was born on November 13, 1916 and was an only child of Denzil and Bertha Queen. She graduated from Sunset High School at the age of 16 and was an elected member of the National Honor Society. Dorothy was a gifted pianist who studied under Mrs. Julius Albert Jahn. She performed in the Crystal Ballroom of the Baker Hotel along with the Schubert Choral Club prior to graduation. She married her one and only love, Frank M. Klaczak on June 23, 1938. Their most memorable moments together were spent square dancing with the First Knighter's. She spent her life teaching in parochial schools, both music and education, and was the Organist for her church. Dorothy was also involved in numerous organizations including serving as President of the Dallas Federation of Women's Clubs and was also President of the Texas State Association of Parliamentarians (Dallas Division). She served as District Deputy of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and was responsible for planning a State Convention. Dorothy also held many offices in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority including President of her Chapter, Laureate Gamma Alpha (1987-1988). She was voted Woman of the Year in 1988 and Sweetheart of her Chapter in 1991. Dorothy was an extremely strong woman and the core of our family that she loved so deeply. She is survived by her son, Frank Klaczak, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Bedford, TX; daughter, Nancy Freeman, of Rowlett, TX; three granddaughters, Kim Wigley and husband, Mike, of Wolfe City, TX; Lory Simmons and husband, Scot, of Ruston, LA; Dawn Vega and husband, Tony, of Wylie, TX; eight great-grandchildren, Brandi Davenport and husband, Jarrod; Dalton and Cheyenne Wigley; Reid and Pearce Simmons; Dani, Makenzie and Alex Vega and three great-great grandchildren, Dalton Davenport, Kailyn and Austin Freeman. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, "Judge" Quentin D. Corley and her husband. Visitation and Rosary will be at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home in Dallas on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Rosary will be recited at 7 PM.
