Dorothy Loretta Gharis

Dorothy Loretta Gharis, age 103, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 in Garland, Texas. She was born on January 17, 1919 in Dallas, Texas to A.J. and Lora Collins. Dorothy was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1936.

In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed reading, quilting, traveling, cooking and was an excellent seamstress. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving person who loved her family and friends, a compassionate soul who was always kind, hard working, fun loving and the epitome of a Proverbs 31, God fearing woman.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred of 67 years and two brothers and six sisters. Left to cherish her beautiful life is her son, Fred Gharis and wife, Ernie and daughter, Kay Morris; grandsons, Bill Gharis and wife, Susan and Bob Gharis and wife, Cathy; granddaughter, Cyndi Bender and husband, Tim; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
