She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 21, 1952, to Thomas A. Newton and Bertie L. Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Brenda Rico, and her son Randal Turner.
Doris is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dean Lowell Turner and their sons: Gary Dean Turner and wife Ruth in Palestine, TX; Clayton Douglas Turner in Glen Rose, TX; and Matthew David Turner in Antlers, OK.
A visitation for Doris will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the chapel at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L.Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232. The funeral service will be immediately after from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Laurel Land chapel.
After the service, a reception will be held at Laurel Land from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Committal at the DFW National Cemetery will occur at 2:15 pm.
