On November 28, 2022, beloved mother, sister and friend Donna Woody became an angel. She lived 71 wonderful years. Born February 28, 1951 in Dallas Texas to Leonard and Carrie Woody. She spent all of her years in Dallas.
When Donna was growing up, one of her favorite things to do was hang out with her friends. Donna was a social butterfly while growing up and it continued into her older years. At the age of 18, she gave birth to her wonderful son Randy. He was one of her greatest achievements. One of her favorite memories with Randy was a ski trip they took to Red River, New Mexico when he was 6 years old. They also went to Acapulco when Randy was 7 and they went to see the bull fights. It was one of the major highlights of their traveling adventures together. Donna’s love of traveling started early and it never ceased to take her on grand adventures.
Donna worked at Southwestern Bell for 17 years and retired from Sprint after 28 years. She was a dedicated worker who was always known as the lady who cracked jokes to make everyone around her laugh and made the workday fun. Most of her co-workers described her as sweet, funny, a team player and she was the free entertainment that got them through the days at work. Her beautiful soul will be missed immensely by the people she worked with. She made an impression that will never leave us.
In her later years, Donna loved to travel with close friends to beautiful places such as Alaska, Cozumel, Hawaii, Las Vegas and her absolute favorite was Paris. While in Las Vegas, she attended concerts and shows. When she was in Hawaii, she fell in love with kayaking. On top of trips, Donna loved to take cruises to Mexico. Her favorite excursion to do on the cruises was to swim with the dolphins. Donna never met a stranger and was always willing to strike up a conversation. Her bright and humorous personality allowed her to make friends easily anywhere she went.
She would love everyone who touched her life to go reach out to someone they haven’t spoken to in a long time to remind them they are loved.
Donna will live forever in our hearts and be deeply missed by all. Her legacy and memory will forever be remembered by friends and family.
Survived by her son Randy and future daughter-in-law Kati.
