Don Otto White, 81, peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on October 17, 2014. He was born on July 26, 1933 to Roxie (Linder) White and Clarence Henry White in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don spent his early life in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma with his grandparents. He attended Elementary and Jr. High Schools in Fort Gibson and joined his father in Dallas, Texas in 1950 where he graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1952. Don joined the Army and was stationed in Iceland during the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 0453 and proudly displayed his US flag at his residence. Don was a Master Mechanic and remained in the automotive field until his retirement in 2008. He was employed by Park cities Ford, W.O. Bankston Lincoln Mercury and Eagle Lincoln Mercury. In November 1970, Don married Juanita Rose (Hart) Herzan in Oak Cliff. They were married for 41 years until her death in 2011. Don spent his leisure time as an avid sports fan and gardener. He was an expert in both areas. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation. His grandfather, John Ross Linder, walked the “Trail of Tears” in 1838. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Rose White, parents, Roxie (Linder) White Trott and Clarence H. White, grandparents, John Ross Linder and Eliza (Pennel) Linder, Callie and Otto White, aunts, Grace (White) Pratt and Lucille (White) Wilks, and cousin Carol (Pratt) Goad. He is survived by cousins, Marcia (Blackard) Elliott, Ruth Ann (Pratt) McLemore, Larry Wilks, Joe Linder, Evelyn Kathleen Elliott and Marcia (Berd) Sontag. Don is also survived by stepchildren, Wesley Bond and husband Harry, Pam Ingersoll and Dan Herzan and wife Michelle, step grandchildren Renee Bond White and husband Steve, Kelli Ingersoll, Brian Ingersoll and wife Stephanie, Tyler Herzan and Austin Herzan and step great-granddaughter Alyssa Lyons. Immense gratitude is extended to Stoneybrook of Garland and their caregivers for the exceptional level of compassion and care provided to Don.
