Diane Sharon Allen

Diane Sharon Allen went home peacefully to be with the Lord and join the celebration in heaven on November 2, 2023. Diane was born on December 23, 1942 in Dallas as the second child of Gladys and John Talbot Mollet.

She grew up in the Park Cities and attended Highland Park High School. She met Nathan Allen, Jr., the love of her life, at Centenary College and they were married for an amazing 62 years.

She is survived by her husband, Nathan Allen, Jr, her son Kevin Allen and wife Gretchen, her daughter Kristin Allen Webb and husband Greg, her brother John Mollet and sister Kelli Sander. Her five grandchildren brought her enormous joy – John and James Allen and Nathan, Mallory and Gabrielle Webb. She is loved by nieces, nephews and many more extended family members and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Beth Allen, and her parents.

Diane’s greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially trips to Montana, Colorado and Ferndale Fishing Club. Every experience was the “Best Ever” which was a reflection of Diane’s eternally positive attitude! She also cherished playing bridge with friends for almost fifty years.

She lived her life to serve others and did so joyfully. She was an avid volunteer at church, Meals on Wheels, Junior Charity League and as a Campfire Girls troop leader. At Highland Park United Methodist Church, Diane and Nathan treasured their time serving as ushers, volunteers at The Feast (Disability Ministry Worship) and as members of the Seekers class. Diane was also a well-loved Sunday school teacher at UPUMC.

Her children’s friends called her Lady Di and Saint Diane. They loved being around her and have memories of her homemade cookies that were always fresh out of the oven. She was referred to as Grandma/Meeguy by her grandchildren, and as an angel by many. She was truly one of the most selfless individuals you could ever meet.

Diane will always be missed, but it brings her family and friends peace to know that she is in heaven waiting for us with Kim.

Services will be held on Monday, November 13th at 1:00 pm in Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church, with a reception at the church to follow.
