Diana was born in Chicago to Dorothy and Edward Lejcar on December 29, 1940. She married Thomas Michael Prince on October 7, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Nursing School and worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, TX.
Diana is preceded in death by her husband Thomas, daughter Susan Prince Kirton, and parents Ed and Dorothy Lejcar.
Diana is survived by Carole Prince Claybour, her husband Ben Claybour, and brother Michael Edward Lejcar, sister in law Carolyn Lejcar, grand daughters Caitlin Prince Claybour, Anna-Lise Kirton, Bailey Kirton, and many nieces and nephews.
On February 26th, Diana became free from dementia. After the better part of 4 years of her slipping away, she is whole again. A Registered Nurse, Girl Scout Leader ( Nursie!), volunteer with Paw Pals of Hillsboro, TX and with equestrian centers helping special needs children ride horses. Even her short time at Cottonwood Nursing Home and Rehab allowed her to "check on her patients" with the kindness of the real staff. She collected friends till the ends even thought she couldn't remember names anymore.
She was fluent in English, sarcasm, and compassion. Her family is very proud of her and we want to thank everyone for sticking with us through the horrible disease called dementia.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.calvaryhilldallas.com for the Prince family.
