After graduating from El Paso High, he attended Texas Western College, El Paso, receiving a degree in Accounting in 1965. He joined the Army from 1965 to 1968. He was a Captain in the Medical Service Corps in Vietnam. He then attended Saint Mary’s Law School and received a J.D. in 1971. During law school he was law clerk for Arthur Domangue & Assoc. He then moved to Dallas and worked as a Police Legal Advisor and then became the Chief Prosecutor for the City of Dallas. He worked in private practice before becoming Municipal Court Judge for the City of Mesquite from 1988 to 2010. He was a director of the Mesquite Credit Union and past president of the Mesquite Bar Association. He was a member of the John DeGrazier Masonic Lodge and the Jewish War Veterans.
He married Cheryl Goldman on September 1, 1974.
David is predeceased by his parents and sister Helaine “Linda”. He is survived by his wife Cheryl and children Heather (David McClellan) and Jason, sister Jo An Rosen and brother-in-law Dr. Lawrence (Francine) Goldman.
The family would like to thank our loyal and loving caregivers.
David was a kind, passionate and understanding individual. He was always ready to help someone in need. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 15, 3:00p.m., in the Bill Sparkman Memorial Chapel at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225.
