It is with much love and great sorrow that we mourn the passing of our fun-loving son, husband, brother and friend Danny Rothman. On Saturday the 22nd day of August 2020 Danny left us much too young and way too soon. He had such a love of life and travel and was quite the foodie. His parents Richard and Marcia Rothman introduced him to the most wonderful things in life at a very young age including trips to Europe where he once screamed as he was running down the main hall at the Louvre, a trip to New Mexico he spoke of his whole life and exciting cruise ship excursions which he later introduced to his wife. They enjoyed many trips to exotic destinations and rarely missed their annual vacation to New York and New Jersey, which were so near and dear to both of their hearts. He moved to Dallas from St. Louis because of his brother Kenny Rothman back in the early 90’s. Kenny helped him get his footing in the early days and Danny soon realized Texas was his new home. He was most happy hanging out with his wife and friends celebrating or dining out and treated his 3 fur-babies like the dog queen and kings they are. His Lando, Lenny and Lucy will miss his hours of petting and snuggling and will forever be sniffing for their “daddy” in his favorite easy chair. If there is one thing to highlight about Danny it was the love he had for his wife Mara. They were the best of friends and perfect for each other. It was love at first sight and after the first date they were inseparable. There was never a day he did not say “I love you” and they both dreamed about the next time they would be off on their next trip together. Danny served his country in the U.S. Army as a young man and later joined Mara in frequent acts of service to their community and enthusiastic trips to vote in every election.
Danny’s love of hospitality brought him to work at a private residence for many years and always thought of the residents as family. That is why we would like to celebrate his life at a place of thoughtful hospitality. Please join us at the Green Door Public House on Friday, the 28th day of August, 3 pm-7 pm. Please share your stories and memories of Danny and his exciting, artful life. Social distancing and CDC Guidelines will be followed. Masks are mandatory, there will be plenty of space to congregate and hand sanitizer stations will be provided. Richard, Marcia, Mara and Kenny look forward to welcoming you to this event filled with love, loss and joyful remembrance. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Danny, please follow this link to make a donation to one of the charities he was passionate about.
