Cora Thomas was born on March 14th, 1921 in Leonville, Louisiana to the late Joseph and Edmonia Anderson. She dedicated her life to Christ in 1970 and began attending Faithful Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member in good standing for over 30 years. She was a devout, humble, and hardworking Christian woman. She was very proud of learning how to read by reading the Bible. She helped raise and train her grandchildren to be men of faith. She was a fervent Prayer Warrior who was active in several prayer teams. She was caring and had the true heart of a Servant. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Thomas (Navy Retired). She had several Brothers and Sisters who preceded her in death. They are Willie Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Harold Anderson, Charles Anderson, Felix Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Rita Skipper, Betty Jo Dural, and Mary Alice Anderson. She leaves loving memories in the hearts of her Daughter, Mary Lee; her grandchildren, LTC(ret) John Sanders of Nokesville, VA (his wife Milissa) and Curtis Lee (his wife
Sherri) of Cedar Hill TX; her great grandchildren 1LT Brett Madrigal (his wife Katie) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jalen of Leavenworth, KS, Abigail, Mara, and Jordon of Nokesville, VA. Her remaining living siblings are Thomas Anderson (his wife Janet), Robert Anderson (his wife Vera), and Ethelyn Sam of Lafayette, Louisiana. She is also survived by nieces (Susie Cluse of Duncanville TX, Helen Orphe of Bowie MD, and Patricia Cormier of Duncanville TX), nephews (Patrick Dural of Dallas TX, Gregg Dural of Boston, MA, Morris Skipper Jr of Lafayette, LA, and Gilbert Anderson of Lafayette, LA) and a host of cousins in Texas and Louisiana.
