Stringer, Charles Edwin Jr. of Combine, Texas. Born October 29, 1947 passed away May 30, 2013. Charlie was a resident of Combine, TX for 31 years and served as Mayor for 14 years. He is a graduate of East Texas State University (Bachelor of Science), University of Texas at Arlington (Master of Science and Master of Civil Engineering).
Charlie worked with the City of Dallas Water Utilities Department for 41 years in various positions and retired as Assistant Director. After retiring he went to work for, CB&I (formerly Shaw) for two years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles E. Stringer Sr. and mother Lorraine E. Stringer, his daughter, Lea Dawn Stringer, and infant grandson Cody Jay Stringer.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Lynn Stringer neé Stovall, their son, Charles Wayne Stringer and wife, Olie Annette Stringer neé Lewis, granddaughter, Christin Leann Tumey, grandsons Nicholas Wayne Stringer, Daniel Wayne Stringer and wife Julie Stringer, Ethan Stringer, "AJ" Tony Plant Jr. great grandsons Aaron Stringer, Colten Plant and great granddaughter Kailey Stringer. Also survived by his brother, Gary Wayne Stringer and wife Mary Stringer along with many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.
His hobbies included antique cars, guns, LPs of artists from the 50s and 60s. A special favorite was Elvis Presley.
