Brian Stephen Patterson was born on August 2, 1966, and adopted by his parents, Marlene and Drake Patterson in Dallas. Brian grew up attending First Baptist Church of Dallas. He graduated from First Baptist Academy in 1985. During his high school years, his passion was football. He received numerous awards, including Defensive Conference MVP, All State Defensive player of the year, First Team All Conference and First Team All State.
After having worked as an insurance claims adjuster at Geico Insurance, he attended Dallas Baptist University, earning a B.A. in business. He later continued his career in the insurance industry. He met the love of his life, Stephanie, in 2012, and they married August 1, 2015. They enjoyed international travel, her gourmet cooking, and their pets.
Brian had suffered from diabetes and its complications for many years. Most recently, he developed gastrointestinal and cardio-pulmonary issues and died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Brian is fondly remembered for his gregarious nature, sense of humor, and loyalty to his friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Patterson, his mother, Marlene Patterson, and his sister, Ann Marie Patterson. He also left behind his cousins, Taylor Tompkins (Julie) and their children, Tara Harwell (Stephen) and their children, and Phyllis Vermillion (Gary). Brian was preceded in death by his father, W. Drake Patterson and his grandparents, Altha and Jim Stephens and Pat Herndon.
His funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2020, at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home. Burial and reception to follow.
