Bobbie Charlene Coats, 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Wilshire Baptist Church in the McIver Chapel, 4316 Abrams Road, Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be Friday February 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas Texas.
Bobbie was born May 6, 1920, in Crosbyton, Texas to Edgar Houston and Hettie Mae Nelson. She graduated from Munday High School, Munday Texas. In 1945, she met and married Olen A. Coats in Dallas. They were married 46 years until his death in 1992.
Bobbie was a charter member of Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas where she sang in the choir. She also was a member of the Dallas Embroidery Guild and the Dallas Needlepoint Club. She was an avid sports enthusiast. She absolutely loved watching her beloved Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks whenever they played.
Bobbie is survived by her son, Bill, his wife Connie, granddaughter Leslie, grandsons Kyle and Brady, brother in law Gene Thompson, sister in law Juanita Nelson and extended family and friends.
