Family and friends are mourning the loss of Billie Jo “Jodie” Forrer. Born in Atkins, Arkansas, she was a long time Dallas resident and founder of ESP, Executive Services Plus, Inc., a boutique executive suite business. Jodie passed peacefully on Thursday, September 9th, 2021, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Chuck Forrer; parents Earnest and Eula Aldridge; and her brother, best friend and business partner, Larry Aldridge.
She is survived by daughter Jacqueline Prien and husband Paul of Dallas; niece Dr. Alison Jo Donnell and husband Lt. Colonel Jeff Donnell, USAF of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Glenda Aldridge of Arkadelphia, AR; son Mike Forrer and wife Barbara of Portland, OR; daughters Patricia Seizer and Barbara Matlock of Dallas; son Mark Forrer and wife Julie of Plano, TX. Grandchildren: Kim Forrer, Chris Forrer, Steven Forrer and wife Kari, Gracie Forrer, Sophie Forrer and Chloe Forrer. Great-grandchildren: Lillian Forrer, Preston Forrer and Elloise Forrer.
Jodie married her soulmate, love of her life and best friend Chuck on July 12, 1963, and together they lived every day for each other until his death in 1997. Chuck and Jodie were a dynamite couple who lit up every room they entered. They were the consummate party hosts and made it their goal to always be home by midnight on New Year’s Eve so they could call their family. Together, they worked hard, played hard and loved their life together.
Jodie started TLC Executive Suites which later became known worldwide as ESP, Executive Services Plus, Inc. She started the business so Chuck and his business associates would have a special office environment in which to work. Jodie was an innovative industry leader in luxury office suites and secretarial services, staffing many locations with an elite group of wonderful, dedicated and loyal employees who became her lifelong friends, many who worked for her for over 20 years.
Jodie was a financial genius and a brilliant negotiator. She was able to see the potential for her suites long before the buildings were finished. Jodie and her staff created a very special environment for many industry leaders long before they became independent businesses. She negotiated many contracts for her clients and she kept countless attorneys, accountants and financial advisors on their toes. Jodie had the ability to make things happen and kept them all very busy. Jodie was a founding member of the worldwide Executive Suite Network (ESN) and was inducted into the Executive Suite Hall of Fame in 1995. Jodie was also awarded the Executive Suites Association (ESA) Excellence Award.
After Chuck’s passing, she sold ESP and started a new chapter. Her sense of adventure led her to the entertainment business, promoting local artists, bands and theatre. She loved music and dance and spent many evenings devoted to the production of local theatrical events.
Jodie’s work ethic and standard of excellence were her trademark. Her motto was: “If you want it bad enough, make a plan, work hard and you will make it happen.” In fact, the Frank Sinatra song “My Way” might have been written with Jodie in mind.
Jodie loved Chuck, her family, her amazing team from ESP and the many wonderful people she met in the entertainment business. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and made it to heaven just in time for the season opener on Thursday night to watch with Chuck.
Jodie’s generous heart and vivacious spirit will be missed by all. We are all better people for knowing and loving her.
A visitation for Jodie will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
