Betty Nell Smith

Betty was raised in Trenton TX and graduated from Trenton High School in 1954.

She married Tommy Smith in 1957 and the couple had 2 children.

She was a bookkeeper at Texas Alcohol Narcotic Education where she worked for more than 20 years.

In her spare time Betty enjoyed reading, watching old movies, listening to music, visiting with her group of friends and attending Oates Drive Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents Pink and Mossie Gillispie, her foster parents, Tom and Lula Cunningham, husband Tommy Smith, her brother John and his wife Katie Gillispie, her brother Charles Gillispie and her brother Bill Gillispie.

Betty is survived by her sons, Larry and Greg Smith, daughters in law Debbie Vogel and Heather Smith, granddaughter Lindsey Cerar and her husband Grant Cerar, grandson Brandon Smith, granddaughter Kylie Smith, and great grandson Hunter Cerar. Sister-in-law Donna Gillispie, and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Services will be held on October 5, 2024 at Grove Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd. Dallas TX. Visitation will begin at 10am, celebration of life at 11am, committal to follow.
