Annette (Ann) Marie (Mauldin) Scott with her three sons at her side, passed away peacefully from this life into Heaven on December 25, 2020, at the age of 91. Ann was a lifelong Texan, born on March 6, 1929, in Brownwood, TX to Sidney and Emily Mauldin. Ann was a beloved, kind, and generous woman, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a wonderful friend to many. Her moral and Christian values and the way she lived her life as a Servant of God have inspired many family and friends to walk the same path.
Ann graduated from Southwest Texas State College (now Texas State University) in 1950 with a B.S. in Home Economics. Ann worked many years in food service management at the University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Texas at Dallas, Gardens of Richardson, and UT Southwest Medical Center. Ann was a dedicated worker with a work ethic second to none. Ann finally retired at the age of 83 and was driving regularly until she was 90.
While attending a Bible Study class at the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Ann met the love of her life William (Bill) Scott who was stationed there while in the Air Force. They married on August 2, 1952, and were married for 59 years, until his death in July 2011. After Bill's military career, Ann worked at The University of Austin while he completed his education. They moved to the DFW area in the early 1960s and made their home in Richardson where they raised three sons.
Ann and Bill were long-time members of Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson. They were former members of the Garland Road Church of Christ. Ann was active in many church groups, including Ladies Bible Class and Love One Another. She also taught children's Bible classes. Ann was a member of book clubs, Retired Teachers, and The Republican Women of North Texas.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and two brothers. She is survived by sons, William Scott Jr., wife Patricia, Bradley Scott, Bryan Scott and brother-in-law, JB Scott. Ann will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Paige Olsen, husband Jacob, Brandon Scott wife Eileen, Austin Scott, wife Katie and Hunter Scott, great-grandchildren Nathan Olsen, Lauren Olsen and Cali Scott. She also has a loving extended family of nieces and nephews, who considered her a friend as well as an aunt.
