Born August 25, 1925, in Ottawa, Kansas. Passed away on September 21st at Crystal Creek Assisted Living, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul James Harrison and Margaret Rutherford Harris Harrison. She is survived by Thomas Pettit Faulkner, her husband of 71 years, and by their daughter, Linda Faulkner Johnston and her husband, James Gilbert Johnston, and also by son, Thomas Pettit Faulkner, Jr., and his wife, Cynthia Avery Faulkner and their children Matthew and Allison, in addition to nieces Louise Kemp and Matney Netherland and nephew, James M. Faulkner, Jr., and children of their marriages. Ann graduated with honors from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1942. She attended Hockaday Junior College for one year and then Southern Methodist University, where she graduated with honors in 1946. At SMU, she joined Pi Beta Phi sorority and was vice-president her Senior year. She was elected President of Mortar Board and was a member of Square (the four most outstanding senior women). She was a Rotunda Beauty in 1944 and 1945 and a Class Favorite in 1946. She remained at SMU to teach Freshman English for two years and was a fashion model for Neiman Marcus. Ann married Thomas P. Faulkner on December 18, 1948, at St. Matthews Cathedral. In 1961 she became Vice-President of the Junior League of Dallas and was a major contributor to the stage production of the first Junior League Follies. She was a member of the Dallas Woman’s Club. She and her husband belonged to the Dallas Country Club for 35 years, and they also belonged to several Dallas dinner dance clubs. Ann conducted Bible study groups at her home and was a Bethel Bible teacher at the Church of the Incarnation, where she was an active member for many years. In 1998 she and her husband joined the Roman Catholic Church. For over forty years, they belonged to a Great Books Club study group. Ann will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor--and especially for her generous, loving spirit. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of your choice. The family will attend a private, graveside memorial service at Hillcrest Memorial Park on September 26, 2020.
