Andrea Delflache, a former resident of Houston and currently of Dallas, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Born June 15, 1979, in Houston to Marc and Ginny Delflache, she is survived by her son Adrien James, her sister Rebecca, her parents and her grandmother, Erla Delflache of Willis, Tex. Andrea was the granddaughter of the late Andre Delflache and the late Marcia and Fred Christian Jr. of Houston. Andrea is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. She graduated from Saint Agnes Academy in Houston in 1997 and with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. She taught for a few years in various school districts in the Houston area. At the time of her death she was a member of Preston Hollow United Methodist Church and a devoted volunteer/friend at Maggie’s Place for Women in Dallas. Andrea had also been a volunteer at HospicePlus in Dallas for several years. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed. Her beautiful smile, and wonderful insight and disposition will be beacons shining forever. Her memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 5th at 2 pm at Preston Hollow United Methodist Church, 6315 Walnut Hill Lane, in Dallas with a reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in the name of Andrea Delflache to either the Dallas Children’s Medical Center, Cardiac Unit, 2777 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 700, Dallas, Texas 75207 or to Maggie’s House for Women, 1302 Redwood Circle, Dallas, Texas 75218.
