He was born in Ireland, Texas on March 17, 1928. Al graduated from Hamilton High School. He was married to Kathleen on July 15, 1952. Alton had a passion for fishing, travel, eating fried catfish, a Louisiana throwdown, and all of his family.
Alton is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Kathleen, son Gary, daughter Cheril, and son-in-law Lloyd Moseley.
He is survived by children, Anita (Randy) Conover, Caren Hohertz, Cathy Hohertz, and Sarah McLaughlin; grandchildren, Randy Conover Jr, Amy Conover, Kathleen (Karl) Frischhertz, Amanda Moseley, and Steven McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Kenny and Madison Frischhertz, and Hartleigh and Harper Conover, also Melissa Conover and Julie Starrett.
