Allyson Marquett, beloved mother and sister, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2010 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Allyson was born at home on Carpenter Avenue in Dallas, Texas on April 3, 1939. She attended grade school at St. Joseph’s Academy, high school at St. Edward’s Academy and the University of Texas at Arlington. She lived in San Francisco, Washington D.C., Des Moines, Iowa and returned to Dallas, Texas where she lived for 42 years. She was baptized and was a woman who was strong in her Catholic faith and love for the Lord. She had a contagious laugh and a heart as big as Texas. She loved her family and friends tremendously and gave herself selflessly throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her husband and only love Ray Marquett, parents Joseph and Rosemary Collmer, sister Mary Imy and brother Steve Collmer. She is survived by her children Nancy Marquett, Mike Marquett and his wife Julie, Jeff Marquett and his wife Katherine. Granddaughter Amanda, step grandchildren Kagan and Jessica, brothers Jan Collmer and his wife Suzanne, Bobby Collmer and his wife Judy, brother-in-law Ken Imy and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for her during her brief battle with cancer. A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, May 14th at 2pm in the North Chapel at Calvary Hill Cemetery 3235 Lombardy Lane Dallas, TX 75220 (214) 357-5754. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Allyson to the American Cancer Society or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Allyson loved to collect Angels and the family finds comfort knowing she is with them now in Heaven. She was and will always be our Angel.
