Gracie (Irick) Maxcine Harden, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Stanley Total Living Center. Gracie was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook and had a green thumb. She was extremely family oriented. Gracie was active at Midway Baptist and she was also heavily involved in her church’s bus ministry with her late husband, Harmon. Gracie will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Gracie is preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Wesley Harden. The couple was married for 58 years before his passing in 2014. Gracie is the daughter of the late Anna Mae (Hicks) Irick and Dallas Carroll Irick. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Pauline Swift, Willa Mae Morrison, Lena Dee Andrews, Dorothy Lee Dugger and brothers Glasco Irick and Haley Irick.
Left to cherish their memories of Gracie and to carry on her legacy are daughters Karen Shaw and her husband Gary of Dallas and Michelle Browne and her husband Matthew of Gastonia. Grieving the loss of their grandmother are Leslie Lamb and her husband Chris, Angela Jenkins, Victoria Browne, Matthew G. Shaw and his wife Meena and Allison Shaw. Gracie leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Dylan Bradbury, Anna Katherine Lamb, Abigail Grace Lamb and Kira Shaw. Her sister Norma Campbell of Elizabethton, Tennessee is also grieving Gracie’s passing.
A celebration of Gracie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Carothers Dallas Funeral Home, 212 W. Trade Street, Dallas. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 12:00 PM. Pastor Walter Windley will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
