It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Clay West Pasour, 80, on April 3, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was a man of few words, had a heart of gold and loved his family, friends and community.
Clay was a life-long farmer, taking after his father and those before him. He was employed as a machinist with Homelite and AMP, Inc. for over 20 years before his retirement. He loved gardening, was an avid rockhound, antique tractor collector and amateur historian and genealogist. Clay was a longtime member of GAMTRA (Gaston Agricultural Mechanical and Textile Restoration Association) and Sons of the Confederacy. He was a dedicated member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church in Dallas, NC, serving on the church council and as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard R. and Edith W. Pasour and son Andrew W. Pasour.
Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Nancy, and his children Amy Shehan (Scott), Howard
Pasour and daughter-in-law, Robin Pasour. Also surviving are grandchildren, Caitlyn Haskin (Thor), Maggie Pasour, Cassidy McMahan, Nathaniel Pasour, great-grandson, Kaius Haskin, and numerous cousins and other relatives.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home Dallas. A second visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Philadelphia Lutheran Church with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Philadelphia Lutheran Church General Fund, 1910 Philadelphia Church Road, Dallas NC 28034.
